After this photo was taken, when I scratched my neck and back there was sand left under my finger nails 😳😱😂 The left pocket of my pink puffy jacket actually is filled with the fine red sand (if anyone has a creative idea for what to do with it, let me know ha!). In exciting news, my quick trip to Palm Springs to surprise my sister on her birthday was a success! ☀️ Now onto the next leg of my journey, I’m headed on a press trip in the company of 19 other amazing creatives and I couldn’t be more stoked!! This girl is on fire🔥🔥🔥 (or at least on top of the fire wave) 📍Fire Wave, Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada🇺🇸 Time for some #MondayMotivation! Later this week I'm traveling again for one of my most exciting collaboration opportunities yet! ✈️ I can't wait to share it with you guys 🤗 When I was sharing the news with friends over the weekend, many reactions were "you're living the dream." Yes, I feel like I am (and am so grateful), but it's also one of those moments where things feel like they are slowly starting to fall into place after a lot of time, effort, and hard work. There have been moments when I've considered going back to a 9-5 to receive the comfort and stability of a reliable paycheck, but I've never given up on myself and my dreams. Keep climbing! You can't reach the top of the mountain if you throw in the towel.
On the day this photo was taken, it was pouring rain when I reached Valley of Fire State Park and I almost considered skipping it. The forecast didn’t look promising and I waited in the parking lot (debating if I wanted to pay the $10 entry) for over a half hour when the sun started to peak through and I decided to give it a shot. The rest of the afternoon was absolutely gorgeous ☀️ I was so grateful that I didn’t give up hope.

We took a cab from Trinidad to Parque El Cubano 🇨🇺 to hike to Javira waterfall (aka El Cubano) as early as our Airbnb host would organize it for us. So I’ll admit I was a little disappointed to see two tour buses already in the parking lot when we got there. But it proved to be easy to pass by the groups on the trail (they were stopped at various spots, one guide was kind enough to point out Cuba’s National bird and tree to us). We arrived at this gorgeous #waterfall to find just a few people splashing around. When the tour groups reached the falls, most of them stopped to admire the waterfall from the viewpoint, but didn’t bother to get in (maybe they didn’t have enough time?). In my opinion, half the magic was swimming in the caves! We spent at least hour swimming and exploring, the majority of the time with the waterfall to ourselves. It was the perfect way to spend the morning!

Yesterday I hiked Angels Landing for what was my first real solo hike. Today would’ve been my mom’s 56th birthday, I guess you could say I was there searching for her.
The last half mile of the hike is grueling, climbing up narrow the spine of the mountain while holding onto chains for dear life with over a thousand foot drops on both sides. It was both scary and exhilarating. I thought a lot about how far I've come (both in the hike and in my life) and how proud I am of myself. My mom was always so proud of me and my biggest cheerleader. I decided to cheer myself on, I could feel that she was too. The beauty from the top was unreal, from 360 degree views, light beams illuminating different rock faces, waterfalls and a rainbow in a waterfall (I’ll be posting videos/photos in my story)! Riding through Cuban tabaco Fields 🐴❤️🌱 If you’re traveling to #Cuba, don’t miss visiting Viñales, home to tabaco fields that make Cuba’s famous cigars.
This colorful countryside town boasts an incredibly lush & mountainous landscape, and deserves more than a day trip. From Havana, it’s a 3 hour drive in a shared taxi (“taxi colectivo”) that will cost you 25 CUC a person (which equates to $25 USD). Horseback riding will only cost 3-5 CUC an hour depending on your guide. We had planned to stay for a night but a torrential downpour the afternoon we were supposed to go horseback riding caused us to change our plans and stay another day/night, which we did not regret! There is so much more to see around the area, from caves to lakes to beaches on the Caribbean Sea, that we would’ve loved to explore if we had more time.
Random travel story: Our local horseback riding guide told us that in Cuba you get 20 years in jail for killing a horse and only 10 years in jail for killing a human. Without access to WiFi, we weren’t able Google this for accuracy and learned to just trust the locals.
Now that I’m back in the US, I was curious so I decided to see what I could find online, but didn’t really find any evidence that clearly supports or denies this. Not surprising when it comes to Cuba 🤷🏽♀️ Looks like I’ll stick to trusting my guide. #go4theglobe .

And now I understand why Camila Cabello left half of her heart here ❤️ Do I even really need to say “Havana Ooh Na Na”?!😝💃🏽 I had heard mixed things about #Cuba, but one of my favorite things about travel is experiencing a place for myself. I can safely say I loved my time in colorful Cuba, from the lively streets of #Havana, to the lush mountains of Viñales, to the charm of Trinidad, to the picture perfect beaches in Varadero. I didn’t want to leave and hope to return one day.
As an American traveling to Cuba, I’ve received more questions about this destination than nearly any other country I’ve visited. I am working on a blog to answer them and so feel free to ask away and I’ll cover your questions in my blog!

Hi friends! 👋 Allow me to reintroduce myself while I'm here in my natural habitat 💃🏽 - it's me, Krista aka @go4theglobe! I love to dance, am a bit of a goofball, and love to make people laugh (even if its at my own expense). I'm a sucker for cute doors, street art and sunrises/sunsets - basically anything colorful (pink & turquoise are my favorite colors 💕)! I used to fear and loathe change - I'll share some ridiculous childhood stories with you as evidence. When I was little and my parents got rid of our teal mini van (so 90's & stylin' haha), I refused to sit in the back row of our new silver Durango! And when they got rid of their water bed for a real king size bed, I also refused to even walk into their room (if I had to, I would hold my hand over my eyes and declare I wasn't looking at it in protest - can you tell I was also a little bit dramatic? 💁🏽♀️🙄😂). Thankfully, I grew out of that mentality and travel has been a huge part of that. I love and crave change, especially when it comes to trying new things! I hope you enjoy the new changes to my Instagram account - more will be following on the blog and other channels, but for now, I have to get ready for my trip to Cuba (I leave on Sunday!!). The evolution of go4theglobe 🌎 change is on the horizon🌻
In the summer of 2016, I would lie awake at night, trying to come up with a name for my travel blog & brand. It seemed every name that popped into my head was already taken on Instagram or online. But it was a helpful distraction from thoughts of my mom's brutal battle with cancer & grief from her recent death. I don't know how the name came to me, but I knew it was the one when it did.
When I started go4theglobe, Matt & I were preparing for our world tour, one we quit our jobs for & ended up traveling to 27 countries on 5 continents in 2017. It was an adventure I saved 3 years for, even before meeting Matt, & after my mom died I knew I couldn't wait any longer to take it. I told Matt I was leaving, so he could stay or come with me. As we did literally everything together, it made sense that @go4theglobe was a travel couple account. Last year we returned home, I entered a contest & we were named Swissgear's Travel Ambassadors, which was amazing & while it paid for travel, it didn't pay for anything else. After spending most of my savings traveling, we needed to make money again. Matt went back to a 9-5 that he’s passionate about, while I've been teaching yoga & taking on side hustles, focusing on #go4theglobe, with aspirations of taking it to the next level. Last year I traveled both with & w/out Matt (he was lucky to get as much vacation time as he did!). With 2019 in full swing, my upcoming adventures are solo & with friends so it makes sense that this account reflects my journey more accurately.
You’ve always been hearing from me (Krista) & you’ll still see some of Matt (although he’s never been a big fan of being in front of the camera so now he’s officially off the hook). So you might not even notice, but tomorrow minor changes will begin to roll out. go4theglobe has never specifically been a couple’s brand, it's an identity that can transpire from a solo traveler to a couple to a family and beyond. It will continue to grow & evolve. My hope has always been for it to be inspirational -whatever your gold may be, GO FOR IT- & if you haven’t figured it out yet, the globe is my gold🙌 🌎🏅
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque 🕌 in Abu Dhabi is absolutely exquisite, but ladies might be surprised to learn that this probably isn't the place you want to use the restroom 😏
I'd recommend going to the bathroom at the War Memorial across the highway (but I wouldn't suggest setting up a tripod there, you might almost end up with your camera gear confiscated😳).
